How GIBIS SARL collects, uses and protects your personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data collected and purposes
We collect only the data necessary for the purposes described below.
Newsletter sign-up
E-mail address, page language, page and form of origin, dates of sign-up and confirmation, and the text of the consent displayed at the time of sign-up. As proof of the sign-up and to prevent abuse, we also record the browser type, the country and a pseudonymised fingerprint of the IP address. Purpose: to send you our news, availability updates, season openings and offers. Legal basis: your consent, obtained by double opt-in (a confirmation e-mail validates the sign-up).
Get in touch
The data you send us voluntarily by telephone or e-mail (name, contact details, nature of the enquiry). Purpose: to answer your enquiry, draw up a quotation and provide commercial follow-up. Legal basis: pre-contractual measures and legitimate interest.
Audience measurement
Cookie-free audience measurement: for each page viewed and certain clicks (call, e-mail, catalogue, reviews, choice of language), we record the page, the referring page, the campaign parameters (utm), the browser type, the country and a pseudonymised fingerprint of the IP address (salted hash, renewed every quarter). No advertising identifier, no profiling, no data sold on. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the website.
Customers: information and offers by e-mail
If you are a customer of GIBIS SARL, we may send you information and offers by e-mail about products similar to those you have purchased, using the e-mail address and name recorded in our customer file. Legal basis: Article L.34-5 of the French Postal and Electronic Communications Code (Code des postes et des communications électroniques) (individual customers) and our legitimate interest (business customers). You may object to this at any time, free of charge, via the link included in every e-mail or by writing to gibis@gibis.fr.
Downloading our documents
To receive a catalogue or any other document by e-mail: your e-mail address, your phone number if you choose to provide one, the language and the page of the form, the campaign parameters (utm) and the wording of the consent statement displayed. As proof of the request and to prevent abuse, we also record the browser type, the country and a pseudonymised hash of the IP address. Purpose: to deliver the document you asked for, through a personal link valid for 30 days whose opening confirms that the address really is yours. Legal basis: your request itself (pre-contractual measures and legitimate interest). The phone number is optional and is only used to call you back about a quote or an availability. Signing up to the newsletter is a separate step: a separate, unticked box, or a button offered after the download; without it the document is still delivered to you and your address is used for nothing else.
No advertising cookies
The gibis.fr website places no advertising cookie or third-party tracker. We use neither an advertising network nor tracking social media buttons. Your browser's local storage (localStorage) may retain your language preference, the fact that you have closed the newsletter banner or that you have already signed up: this information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Retention period
Newsletter: your data is kept until you unsubscribe. An unconfirmed sign-up request is never used to write to you; we delete it during our periodic database clean-ups. After you unsubscribe, we keep only your address on a suppression list, so that we no longer write to you, together with the record of your sign-up and of your unsubscription. Customers: the data used for our information e-mails is kept for the duration of the business relationship and then for 3 years after your last order. Commercial enquiries: duration of the business relationship, then the statutory retention period for accounting records. Audience measurement: pseudonymised data, deleted during our periodic database clean-ups. Document requests: the download link is valid for 30 days. A request whose link has never been opened is used for nothing else and its address is deleted during our periodic database clean-ups. Once the link has been opened, the request and its proof of consent are kept for 3 years after your last download; if you ticked the “newsletter” box or pressed the sign-up button, that subscription follows the period stated above for the newsletter.
Recipients and processors
Your data is neither sold nor rented. It is accessible to the GIBIS SARL staff in charge of customer relations. The website and its database are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc.; e-mails are sent by Resend, Inc. These providers act on our instructions and do not reuse your data. They may process data in the United States: these transfers are governed by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You may also object at any time, free of charge, to receiving our information e-mails (Article 21 of the GDPR). Every newsletter e-mail includes a one-click unsubscribe link. To exercise your rights, write to gibis@gibis.fr. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
