How much does a hunting pheasant cost?
At GIBIS, a live hunting pheasant costs €14.90 each as an adult of at least 20 weeks, in the common, melanistic or Chinese strain, and €19.00 each in the FAISAN PUR CHASSE® strain. The 14-week poult, intended for a summer return to the wild, starts at €11.60 (€13.50 in PUR CHASSE®). These prices include VAT at 5.5%, ex-farm at Chatte (Isère), for live game intended for hunting and restocking. 14-week poult
€11.60 in the common strain, US cross; €13.50 in the PUR CHASSE® strain. Beyond 14 weeks, +€0.55 for each additional week of age.
Adult pheasant, 20 weeks minimum
€14.90 for common pheasant (lot of 50% cocks / hens), melanistic or Chinese; €19.00 for FAISAN PUR CHASSE®.
Cock only
€16.50 each for common or Chinese pheasant: a graded lot, cocks only.

Red-legged partridge

Age, strain, sex, quantity, season, transport
What makes the price of live game vary
A game price can only be compared at equal age, strain and format. Six parameters explain most of the differences in the price list below — and in the final quote.
Age
The longer the bird stays on the farm, the more it costs: €11.60 for a 14-week poult, €14.90 for an adult of at least 20 weeks, and +€0.55 for each additional week of age for a poult delivered beyond 14 weeks. The same logic applies to red-legged partridge: €10.30 at 14 weeks, €11.40 as an adult.
Strain
FAISAN PUR CHASSE®: €13.50 as a poult and €19.00 as an adult, against €11.60 and €14.90 in the common strain. The difference pays for natural reproduction in aviaries and rearing in large planted aviaries (details below).
Sex
Mixed lot (50% cocks / hens): €14.90. Cock only: €16.50, because a lot of cocks requires individual sexing and unbalances our pens.
Quantity
Prices decrease with quantity: the volume discount is set in the quote, based on the number of birds, the strain, the age, the period and the delivery location. There is no minimum order.
Season
Poults from June to August, adult partridges from August to December, young mallards in June and adults in August. August and September are our busiest months: what is not booked is not necessarily available.
Transport
Prices are ex-farm, carriage extra. Collection at Chatte, by appointment, avoids transport; for delivery, the cost depends on distance and volume, and falls when orders are grouped on the same delivery round.

FAISAN PUR CHASSE®: what the price difference pays for
As an adult, the FAISAN PUR CHASSE® costs €19.00 − €14.90 = €4.10 more than a common pheasant; as a 14-week poult, €13.50 − €11.60 = €1.90. This difference pays for a way of rearing: natural reproduction in aviaries — natural pairing and brooding, with no artificial insemination and no mechanical incubation — large planted aviaries of over 10,000 m², a diet of insects and cereals grown on the farm, and regular flushing by pointing dogs. The result: a fast take-off, sustained flight and the ability to take cover again. Produced in limited numbers, the strain is booked early. Summer return to the wild: 50 poults
In the common strain, US cross: 50 × €11.60 = €580.00. In the PUR CHASSE® strain: 50 × €13.50 = €675.00. Delivered at 16 weeks instead of 14: €11.60 + 2 × €0.55 = €12.70 each, i.e. 50 × €12.70 = €635.00. Deposit with the order on the first lot: 30% × €580.00 = €174.00.
ACCA: summer restocking and pheasants for shooting
60 poults of 14 weeks: 60 × €11.60 = €696.00. 40 adult pheasants in a mixed lot for the season: 40 × €14.90 = €596.00. 3 coveys of red-legged partridges (9 birds + 1 leader): 3 × €102.00 = €306.00. Total: €696.00 + €596.00 + €306.00 = €1,598.00, of which 30% × €1,598.00 = €479.40 is paid as a deposit with the order.
Budget for 100 hectares
Allow 45 to 90 poults per 100 hectares of suitable ground. At catalogue prices: 45 × €11.60 = €522.00 to 90 × €11.60 = €1,044.00 in the common strain, and 45 × €13.50 = €607.50 to 90 × €13.50 = €1,215.00 in PUR CHASSE®, for every 100 hectares.

Written order and 30% deposit
The order is registered on receipt of your written order (letter or e-mail), accompanied by a deposit of 30% of the price including VAT.
Payment before departure
Unless otherwise agreed, collection or dispatch of the game requires immediate payment of the full price before departure.
Net prices including VAT at 5.5%
Prices are firm while stocks last, barring printing errors; in view of rising raw material prices, GIBIS reserves the right to change them at any time.
Carriage extra, crates to be returned
Prices are ex our warehouses in Chatte (38160), with transport invoiced separately. The crates remain at GIBIS's disposal: if they are not returned, a charge of €5 including VAT is invoiced.
Indicative lead times
Delivery times are given for guidance only and depend on the date the order is received; an unforeseeable delay, or one caused by the carrier, gives rise neither to cancellation of the order nor to the payment of compensation or penalties.
Live arrival guaranteed
Check the game in the presence of the driver, record any mortality on the delivery note and notify us on 04 76 38 31 01 within 24 hours: dead game not reported on the delivery note is not refunded. Game you keep in captivity yourself is no longer guaranteed.
