Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I break my hunting dog in Isère?
GIBIS offers a 40-hectare training ground in Chatte, Isère, accessible from Grenoble, Lyon and Valence. The site offers a diversity of biotopes (plain, woodland, scrubland, wetlands) with live game (pheasants, partridges, rabbits, ducks) to break your dog in realistic hunting conditions.
What game for training my pointing dog?
For pointing dogs, we recommend starting with the red partridge (short, predictable flight), then moving to pheasants (faster, more sustained flight). Wild rabbits allow furred game discipline training. Game choice is adapted to your dog's level and specialisation.
How much does a training session cost?
The price includes a ground access package and the cost of game used, which varies by species (pheasants, partridges, rabbits). Contact us by phone on 04 76 38 31 01 for a quote adapted to your needs and to book your session.
Can I train a 6-month-old young dog?
Yes, breaking can begin at 6 months for most breeds. At this age, the young dog discovers game scent and learns the basics of questing. We recommend short sessions (30 to 45 minutes) with game appropriate to the puppy's level. GIBIS's ground offers a calm and controlled environment ideal for first outings.
